Blink Cameras

Connect your Blink cameras by linking your Amazon/Blink account. All your Blink cameras appear automatically once authenticated.

  1. Open ⚙️ Settings → expand Cameras → click Security Cameras
  2. Select the Blink tab
  3. You'll see a camera icon with "No Blink account linked"
  4. Click Link Blink Account (or the + button)
  5. Enter your Blink email and Blink password
  6. Click Link Account

Saving Credentials

Aegis can remember your credentials so you don't have to enter them every time your session expires. This is optional — credentials are stored locally on your machine, never sent anywhere.

2FA Verification

If your Blink account has two-factor authentication enabled (recommended), Aegis handles it:

  1. After entering credentials, a blue info box appears:

"A verification code has been sent to your email. Please enter it below."

  2. Check your email for the 6-digit code from Blink
  3. Enter the code in the verification field
  4. Click Verify Code

Your cameras appear immediately after verification.

Managing Linked Cameras

Once authenticated, the settings page shows:

Your email at the top with a green "Linked" indicator → Camera count — e.g., "3 cameras linked"Each camera listed with its name and status:

  • Live (green pulsing dot) — camera is online and streaming
  • Offline (gray dot) — camera is unreachable

Controls

ButtonAction
RefreshRe-syncs camera list from Blink servers
UnlinkRemoves account (asks for confirmation: "Are you sure you want to unlink the Blink account for user@email.com?")

Unlinking removes: → Session data and authentication tokens → Stored credentials (if saved) → All Blink cameras from the Monitor grid → Legacy localStorage entries

Session Management

Blink sessions expire over time. When this happens:

  1. You'll see a "Session expired" or "Login endpoint failed" error
  2. A Clear stored data and try again link appears
  3. Click it to clean up stale session data
  4. Re-enter your credentials to re-authenticate

Aegis checks authentication status automatically on startup and after camera list changes.

Multi-Account

Aegis can check for multiple Blink accounts. The system finds the first active (authenticated) account and uses it. If no authenticated account is found, it falls back to the first available account.

Troubleshooting

"Too many login attempts"

Blink rate-limits authentication to protect accounts. Wait 60 minutes before trying again.

Blink's own servers are having problems — this affects many users at once: → Wait 30–60 minutes and try again → Check if the official Blink app on your phone also has issues → No action needed on your part — it will resolve automatically

"Invalid email or password"

Double-check your credentials. Make sure you can log into the official Blink app with the same email and password.

"Login endpoint failed"

Your saved session is stale. Click Clear stored data and try again, then re-enter your credentials.

Cameras show as Offline

→ Check that your Blink cameras have power and are connected to WiFi → Try refreshing the camera list → Verify cameras work in the official Blink app first
